Spooky Delight #1: Sasha Summers
Aug 03
August is paranormal month on the blog ahead of the print release of Saxonhurst Secrets. I’ll have ghostly witchy goings-on galore, plus some very special guests. The first of these guests is a lovely new-to-me writer – Sasha Summers. And can you possibly resist a story entitled Medusa: A Love Story? I can’t! Welcome, Sasha!
The Music of Medusa, A Love Story
Thanks so very much for having my on your blog today Justine! I’m excited to share Medusa, A Love Story with new readers and hope ‘her’ soundtrack might garner some interest.
Here’s the tagline for Medusa:
It’s said that love can change a person, Medusa wasn’t always a monster…
Medusa, A Love Story isn’t a happy story. I do my best to stick to the myth-or a relative version of it- and offer a ‘what if’ behind led to her transformation. I wanted a dark, somber, and heart-breaking feel. And this is the music that helped me get there.
The beginning introduces you to the characters, the time, and the place…

Ariston and Medusa’s theme tend to be like them, sweet and earnest… with an underlying strength

And there’s plenty of drama: war, loss, death, and that whole – turning into a monster with serpent-hair thing J:

But you can probably sense the feel I was going for. And, as you’ve noticed, I pull most of my writing music (for my mythical fantasies anyway) from movie soundtracks. I’m kind of a ‘method writer’, if you will, I dig deep and ‘feel’ when I’m writing – music really helps me with that.
Medusa, A Love Story is the first in the Loves of Olympus series. Book 2, For the Love of Hades should be released early 2013. I sincerely hope you enjoy the book(s) and would love to hear from readers.
