Sing It

Some of my stories have entire soundtracks attached to them (Highly Strung) and others don’t (The Business of Pleasure) but most fall somewhere in between.
When I first brewed up the idea for Game – about two years before I actually wrote it – this Ladytron track seemed to be the music of choice for its non-existent book trailer. (I’d have to have the right music for a book trailer and sadly the right music is never freely available.) But I like to listen to this and imagine clips of the story flashing along as it plays.
Then, once I’d started writing it, I heard this track by Elbow and it became ‘Lloyd and Sophie’s theme’. I wrote the scene near the end where they fall into the lake listening to it. It makes me feel a bit smooshy.
I do love Lloyd and Sophie. They kiss like they invented it. I wish more people were reading their story. I’m thinking of retitling Game so that it’s called Fifty Ways to Submit to a Billionaire. What do you think? And what about the cover art? What parts of a suit haven’t been done yet? Sock suspenders?
Just in case you prefer it as it is, it’s still available for just 99p, here.
